Chimney Inspection

See what is actually happening inside your chimney.

An inspection is where honest chimney work starts. A Level 1 covers readily accessible areas. A Level 2 adds a camera scan of the flue interior and is what you want before buying a home, after a chimney fire, or after any weather event. You get photos and plain-language findings, not a verbal scare.

Before any work

Need a Repair? Free Inspection Before We Start the Work

We look first, photograph what we find, explain the visible condition and the options, then price the work. You decide before anything begins.

Applies to the initial evaluation before applicable repair, restoration, fireplace and masonry work. Dedicated inspections — real-estate transactions and specialized Level 2 or Level 3 inspections — are separate priced services.

What we do

  • Level 1 visual inspection of readily accessible areas
  • Level 2 interior camera inspection of the flue
  • Real-estate transfer inspections
  • Post-event inspections after a chimney fire, storm or earthquake
  • Liner condition and clearance assessment
  • Written findings with photographs

Signs you need this

  • Buying or selling a home with a fireplace
  • You have never had the chimney looked at
  • You suspect a chimney fire happened
  • Smoke, odor or draft problems with no obvious cause
  • An insurance or home-inspection report flagged the chimney

Our process

  1. Step 1

    Access

We inspect from inside and from the roof where access is safe.

  2. Step 2

    Scan

Level 2 adds a camera pass through the flue interior.

  3. Step 3

    Document

Every finding is photographed and labeled.

  4. Step 4

    Explain

We tell you what needs attention now, what can wait, and what is fine.

Inspections FAQs

Do I need a Level 1 or Level 2?
Level 1 for routine annual service. Level 2 for property transfers, after a chimney fire or storm, or when changing appliances.
Will you tell me my chimney is safe?
We report what we observed and photographed. We do not issue blanket safety guarantees, and neither should anyone else.
