Applies to the initial evaluation before applicable repair, restoration, fireplace and masonry work. Real-estate and specialized Level 2 or Level 3 inspections are separately priced services.
Common causes
- • Creosote or debris restricting the flue
- • Damaged or unlined smoke chamber
- • Damper not opening fully
- • Firebox opening too large for the flue size
- • Negative pressure from a tight house or running exhaust fans
What we do
- • Camera inspection of the flue and smoke chamber
- • Sweep and clear any restriction
- • Smoke chamber parging or smoke guard where geometry is the cause
- • Damper repair or replacement
