Chimney Crown Repair & Rebuild
Repair the crown before water gets into the brick.
The crown is the concrete slab on top of your chimney. It sheds water away from the brick. When it cracks — and North Texas heat cycles crack them — water runs into the masonry, freezes, and spalls the brick from the inside out. Crown work is cheap compared with the rebuild it prevents.

Step 1
Inspect
We photograph the crown, measure cracking, and check whether the flue tile is intact.
Step 2
Scope
Repairable crowns get sealed. Failed crowns get removed and rebuilt — we tell you which you have.
Step 3
Rebuild
New crowns are cast with proper overhang, drip edge and an expansion joint around the tile.
Step 4
Protect
We recommend vapor-permeable waterproofing so the repair keeps working.

- Can a cracked crown just be sealed?
- Sometimes. Hairline cracking usually seals well. Crowns that are crumbling, sitting flush with the brick, or missing an expansion joint need a rebuild.
- How long does a crown rebuild take?
- Most crown rebuilds are a one-day job, plus cure time before we waterproof.
